HOW DELÚVIA WAS BORN
From the age of 15, Delúvia's co-founder, Alicia Webb, underwent a personal struggle with Psoriasis. Throughout her teenage years, she chose to don long-sleeved shirts and pants, even in the sweltering summer heat, yearning to break free from the need to conceal herself. Alicia's desire to cease hiding prompted the exploration of the Dead Sea's benefits. As a family, they embarked on a journey to Israel, where they encountered the remarkable properties of Dead Sea minerals, giving birth to the concept of Deluvia.
Alicia witnessed such transformative results that she decided to establish a product line, aiming to assist others in looking good, feeling good, and gaining the confidence to let their individuality shine. Throughout Deluvia's 20-year existence, the brand diligently scoured the globe for premium ingredients to integrate into their products—ingredients that genuinely deliver results—all offered at down-to-earth prices.
ORIGIN OF THE "DELÚVIA" NAME
The name Delúvia comes from the geology term “Diluvium” which are deposits formed by flooding waters, which seemed a fitting name for a product derived from pure minerals from the Dead Sea. The company originally began as a home business and quickly grew. Now, over two decades later, the corporate offices and manufacturing plant encompasses over 7,500 square feet.
The Delúvia Dead Sea Purifying Mud Mask quickly took off so the owners created a complimentary skin care line to use along with the mud to get even better results. With the desire to keep the line as pure as possible, further development was done to create the current paraben-free line.
DEMÚRE MINERAL COSMETICS
Alicia saw a need for a pure, cosmetics line that would complement the Dead Sea skin care line. Naturally, she wanted it to be healthy for the skin without parabens, fillers or other chemicals that can be harmful to the skin. At the time there were very few natural cosmetics available. So they decided to expand the product line and create spa-quality mineral makeup that was made from nature, as well as provided excellent coverage while feeling light and gentle. The line was called ‘Demure’ from the original word, meaning an unassuming, natural-looking makeup.
