Favorite Thanksgiving Traditions

In all the fun and frenzy, it can be easy to forget the true meaning of Thanksgiving: Gratitude. But we were curious of what else makes Thanksgiving so special to YOU?

We asked and you answered.

Our question on social media was: Favorite and most beloved Thanksgiving traditions and this is what some of you answered:

Keeping a gratitude jar
Make Thanksgiving a year-round affair. Throughout the year, keeping a gratitude jar of gestures and acts of kindness from family and friends. Then on Thanksgiving Day it’s so special to read them out aloud -- but keep a box of tissues nearby… #happytears

Watch a classic Holiday movie
After dinner, all cozied up on the sofa with a large slice of Pumpkin pie, my family and I watch a classic holiday movie….actually the most watched holiday movie in our family is “Planes, Trains and Automobiles” with John Candy.

Catching up with far away family members
Not all members of our family or extended family can be with us for Thanksgiving, so the anticipated Skype or Zoom call is a real Thanksgiving must-do that many of you are looking forward to so much. Some of our answers we received said things like:

“Skyping with my Aunt and my Uncle in Ireland is one of my favorite conversations I’ll have over Thanksgiving.”

“I love when we prop up dad’s laptop at the dinner table, just chatting away with Grandma and Grandpa (they can’t travel right now). :(  #missthemsomuch

Oh, and one more thing: A lovely article on Thanksgiving Traditions from Oprah Daily.

Are you planning to start any new traditions this year?

Wherever you are, whatever traditions you hold dear to your heart... Happy Thanksgiving from us to you!

XO,

Deluvia
