Cold Weather Skincare

For sure, the colder months of the year are great for our constantly-cozy aesthetic like scented candles, a delightful fire in the fireplace, or finally getting to wear the snuggly soft cashmere sweater you love so much. But these colder months usually mark the time when our skin tends to be in extra need of hydration and protection. This is the time we likely experience too much artificial heat, not enough sunlight, and dryness caused by frigid air. The dry and cold weather of winter, not to mention circulated indoor air, can really be quite stressful to our skin. But fortunately, a solid skin-care routine can help make up for that, at least a little ;)

Consider switching to a gentle, more hydrating cleanser to support your skin needs.

While we adore the fresh feel of a light gel moisturizer during the summer, winter calls for slightly richer formulas to properly lock in that much needed hydration.

Tip: It may be tempting to skip exfoliators when your skin is feeling sensitive and fragile from exposure to dry, cold air. But exfoliating ensures you are clearing away any dead skin cells that can flake off and cause dry skin. Plus, keeping your skin clean and exfoliated can help your moisturizer and skincare to really soak in. Be very careful not to over-exfoliate your skin. Always follow recommended application instructions.

Like we said above, we all feel the need for that extra bit more hydration in winter…that being said, have you tried our Manuka Honey Cream yet? This might just be what you need. This cream contains enzymes, antioxidants, and amino acids that are known to be beneficial at hydrating and soothing to the skin. And combined with quality Aloe Vera, it’s power-packed with ingredients that are beneficial to the skin.

Here is something that is worth mentioning:  "Hands tend to get forgotten in winter and yet can highlight signs of aging when they’ve not been looked after in a caring way. Just like your face, your hands are being exposed to the elements so much. Our regimen of frequently washing our hands (not just in winter) will help keep cold and flu germs away but can dry out our hands even more. So always use a hand moisturizer, more so now than in other months.

Did you know, our hydrating Hand and Body Lotion is enriched with Vitamin E and Aloe Vera, as well as Olive and Jojoba oils for long-lasting softness and relief from dry skin. It is formulated with plant extracts, Vitamin B5 and natural oils known for their skin moisturizing benefits. This intense conditioning formula will leave your hands exquisitely soft and hydrated. Comes unscented so you have the option to add your favorite essential oils to it, if you wish.

We know you know, the heat in your home can seriously contribute to your skin feeling dry. Heaters (like air conditioners) can pull moisture from the air. What can we do to combat this feeling of dry air?

Use a humidifier so that you can add moisture into the air during colder, drier months.
